Will do BTCC, with the Q50.

I hope they will do more in the future. SuperGT, WTCC, DTM, GTE, and why not, even WRC(with the future Q20).

I like it. I have had a soft spot for the Q series since 91. How can you not love a Nissan V8?

The idea that Infiniti is serious about racing is a good one. However, there cars seem a bit big. Maybe a racing program will fix this issue. That Q50 will look like a monster amongst the 1-series, Focus, and the like.

The race version looks fast but the street version looks boring.

I was just wondering why they were participating in the BTCC series but I just learned that the Q50 is sold in European markets. I guess they forgot to ship them to Finnish dealers...

We have only Qashqai, Juke and other horrible Nissans. GT-R is for sale here but I think they have been able to sell only 1 or 2.

Infiniti needs to get their name out there more in the UK and the BTCC is a great place to start. I've only recently actually noticed their cars on the road, I think someone near me has a big blue lumpy car and there's a lumpy SUV or two about. They should probably give them names, too, that way I might have some idea what I'm looking at.

For what it's worth, I don't think I've ever seen an Infiniti in person, and I come from the 'B' in BTCC.

Can't be worse than when American muscle cars, invaded BTCC.

Strange, one would think that Fins are more interested in AWD, speed machines.

Why? Every enthusiast should check out, a new brand that enters the market, even a new model.

High tech. V6 seems more likely, for the Q80, if that's what you mean.

GT-R is pretty expensive here. The base price is around €170k ($217k). Cheapest used one (out of three) is €88k ($113k).

We have high taxes. Especially for powerful or big new cars.

It comes outside EU which causes some percentage to customs (maybe 5% but I don't remember this exactly), our value added tax is 24% and then we have the car tax paid during the importation of a vehicle. The car tax is now CO2 emission based which throws GT-R into quite high tax values. If I found the correct CO2 value the car tax is around 45%.

I was actually referencing the 91 Q45. It had a 276hp 4.5. Great engine, bit not super durable.

All that says to me is that they are made with Japanese flair and German imagination.

Don't worry, the hybrid GT-R will emit around 100g of CO2, per hundred miles.

Not necessarily, what non enthusiast can guess that behind the 4C name hides a lump of carbon fiber and Italian passion? You don't need a flamboyant name for a flamboyant car.

But that has the words Alfa Romeo in front of it, with all the history of slightly fragile red Italian machines behind it (and I nearly didn't recognise it without those words).

History matters the most for those old enough to remember it, and everybody knows that old people drive Buicks.

I don't remember any rumors about such...

I'm not worrying about the price of GT-Rs as it is way too new car for me. But it would more fun too see some exciting Nissan and not just the boring ones.

In 2012 the best selling new car in Finland was Nissan Qashqai! And it was third best in the last year and holding the same position currently. VW Golf, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Avensis are the other best sellers. Our new car market is so boring.
